New developments at Team Mesalanius

Hello. It hasn't been near as long this time, so I guess that counts for something.

We've really still made no progress on the arcade cabinet, but that's okay, because some other stuff has been happening behind the scenes around here. Well, we have kinda-sorta made some progress, because we have nailed down a PC parts list now. You can find it here. (If you're wondering why we picked such a high-end yet low-wattage power supply, it's because that power supply will also be driving a lot of the cabinet's electronics, not just the computer.)

Aside from that, Michael and I have begun to revive our old brand, Team Mesalanius. There's a pretty long, more than kinda silly story about what that is and how we arrived at that name, but putting that aside for now (I might explain that at a later date), the name is truly official for the first time in the 10 or so years it has existed. Why? Because we now own Mesalanius.com. That's huge (even though it's currently empty). We've previously been hosting some random stuff on Google Sites and over here on Blogger, with maybe a couple of custom things piggybacking off of a domain my dad purchased decades ago, because we were young kids and had no sources of income. Now, we both have our own income, so I went out and purchased a domain and got it hosted. It felt hilariously awesome, like a dream come true, when I put "Team Mesalanius" on my billing address for the domain. I could finally do it, because it finally became an organization with some sort of paper trail.

We don't have any sort of grand plans just yet, but rest assured, we're coming up with ideas once again for our old YouTube channel, many of which involve old PC games. This is in large part due to the fact that the two of us have recently accumulated a surprisingly large sum of at least slightly antiquated computer hardware and software, and a lot of it is worth making videos about. If it isn't worth making a video specifically about, it might still be worth using in videos that are about other topics.

Be sure to go follow that channel, because that's where we'll be documenting the Touhou cabinet's creation once we get around to it! I'll continue writing about it over here, because honestly I have no idea when we'll actually get around to updating the site, much less getting a blog put somewhere on it. We will, though. It'll just take time, since neither of us exactly have a wealth of free time at the moment...
